Post pictures of your funny hens!

that’s so adorable! If it were me, I’d put out a nesting box just for her. 🥰🥰🥰
My older RSL chickens haven’t ever used my cat flap, but I’m thinking my cuckoo maran/olive egger youngsters will figure it out!

You are right.. she obviously likes baskets so needs one for herself.. haha 😄

Her sister Pea is broody with no eggs and has recently picked a wild nesting spot to sleep in. Every evening I carry her back to her sister. She's very happy with a golf ball or a fake egg or anything really😆 Last night she was incubating a dried tea bag 🤣...I use them as fire starters. Hilarious birds haha

Oh that is so hilarious!!! Have you ever thought about picking up local fertilized eggs, just to see what happens? That might rock Pea’s world! She might be the best little mama bird ever!!!!! 🥰😂🤣. I carry my ten years RSL hen from the roof of our hot water radiant heating house (the roof warms her feet’s and fluffy butt) back to the hen house. She’s taught her new one year old buddy to go sit with her. 😆. I’ve never been able to teach her to put herself to bed, even with the heater turned off! 🤣😂😅. Red is so insistent on sitting there each evening! Red is up at the top by the chimney.

I will give them both selective eggs to hatch from my crested birds in the spring. It's mid winter here so I'll wait till the cold patch is over in a month or so. I am certain they'll be fabulous mamma hens, I don't want to breed them specifically tho as they're a mix standard x bantam hodge podge hehe😆

Red is a clever hen with her glass half full haha, an eternal optimist, so sweet🥰
