Rushdoggie
Songster
OK, so I'm pretty sure she had a sour crop/doughy crop. She may have had an actual impaction at the start. I kept her inside 2 weeks, then inside at night but let her out with the others during the day (it was cold and she is SO thin, plus I wanted to feel her crop in the morning.
I treated her with miconidazole for 2 weeks and if definitely got a lot better. Her energy improved and her crop would expand and contract what seemed like appropriately. It still feels softer and "wetter" than my other girls.
Its been a few weeks and she is still so damn thin. She's a huge fluffy chicken and I can see her keel bone through her fluff. She did a small molt too, I'm guessing because shes been sick?
Her poop has a lot of liquid, it looks like a white puddle with a few poos in the middle. She doesn't seem to be gaining weight very quickly.
Should I treat her again? SO little info on post treating for sour crop.
How long does it take for a bird to gain weight? I've been giving her extra calories every day (some treats, some cooked meat and eggs).
