I managed to recover all I had wrote, thank goodness! I copied and pasted everything to a word document. I could trash everything and just make a new post if it's easier on your end...unless you need to find what I did.

Me too. Hopefully it was just a fluke. I reposted two lines and it came up as posted.

If anything happens again (hopefully not), I'll document and screenshot everything.

I erased all the mess, saved the post, then deleted the entire post. I shut everything down and restarted my laptop.

I copied the text, copied and linked the sites, copied more text...and posted.
Everything came up perfectly.

As you mentioned, I hope it was just a glitch...it may have been this older laptop.
Everything is working great, I just wanted to update that things went fine.
I'll follow your instructions Nifty, should something arise.
