Post Your Chicken Poetry Here!

First Lothiriel, I'm so sorry for Buttercup.

I hate that the hawks can't leave chickens alone.

I have another poem,

I have an observant Leghorn
She always stares at me
Day and night
Like I'll bite
It's a bit creepy

Out free ranging
diggin' under the tree
I noticed that the Leghorn
again was staring at me

She'll lift her head
and widen her eyes
Her neck stretched far
and wide
As if she's trying to peer
deep inside ( my soul)

In she goes for the night
she closes those eyes tight
puts her underneath her wing
Won't come out to say
a thing

If you think this poem is corny
Spend the day with my observant Leghorny

There! There it is inside the coop
the black gold, the riches! the chicken poop!
No store bought soil, no pre-packaged dirt,
Just the droppings you've laid on my shirt.
Who thought of this, this grand scheme,
that poop could be used for my flower regime?
Flowers so hearty they will never stoop,
all thanks to my chickens, and their chicken poop.

Sweet D'Uccles,
bring great joy, bring chuckles (LOL)
each feather tipped with a silver spangle
they are gorgeous from any angle

Such a joyous gait, as they skip and hop
while the other hens go flip-flop
They bring a smile to your face,
they can brighten up any old place!

So cheesy, I know... but I think it's pretty cute.
