My big bro is an ex-veteran and I remember how hard it was not to have him beside me mending a fence or mucking out the stalls,laughing and dumping hay or spraying ice cold water on my back...but then he came home after MIA for a week without his leg and now it seems like all the life has drained out of him.

lol yes it is a smaller ship though and they are fighting. But I have faith, and am glad he is not like our other boys on the ground in a war zone. I pray for them and their families!

Thank you. He is getting better,counseling is doing wonders and a couple days ago I noticed a tiny piece of the old sparkle in his eyes came back. he doesn't cuss at me anymore,which he used to do A LOT. After he came home I think he was hallucinating but he told us someone dragged him somewhere and then he blacked out. Someone on here said it was probably true.

Yes it really changes a person, to go through such trauma. I just need time, patience, and love.

My husband father was an raging anger and alcoholic after Nam. He was thrown in the dead pile 3 times, and when someone walked by he would move again. He was the only survivor of his platoon. And still has the bullet in his head. He is deaf from a grenade gone off close to his head. He took a very long time to calm down.
