First egg from one of my 4 month Red Stars! It's a little smaller than the eggs from the older hens.

Welll..after being impatient and getting 3, 10-month old Black Sex Links, I got 3 eggs in the first 6 hours they were here! I'm hoping they peer pressure my younger pullets.

My first egg from my first chicken (a BO)--EVER!!!! So. Proud. It had a hole in it and the skin felt leathery--will switch to a layer feed and oyster shell today. Yay!!

Very first egg yesterday! At last! They're almost 28 weeks old!

It's either my Wyandotte or my Sussex's. I'm not sure. All I know is that they're both supposed to be brown!

It's a little bit smaller than my store-bought eggs, but they're huge. So, it's about a medium-sized egg.

Looks a lot like the shape and color that my Wyandotte lays. My sussex lays a lighter brown egg and it is rounder, if that help.

I got all my chickens on 2/19/11 from the local auction and on 3/10/11 got my first egg.

all of these eggs are so beautiful!!! I'm so excited to get my first eggs!! I have a long way to go though

my girls are only 6-7 weeks

Here is my first egg from a Buff Orp. I found it on the ground inside the coop; not in the nice cozy nesting boxes I created for them. How do I get them to start using the nesting boxes?

I continually have trouble with either finding the darn eggs or getting them to lay where I want. I put a phony egg (Easter ornament) where I wanted them to lay. Actually helped. Good luck!
