Post your FIRST EGG pics!

I didn't take a picture before cracking the egg because I thought my neighbor was playing a joke on me, because the first egg showed up at just 16 weeks - I wasn't expecting any until about 20 weeks. I didn't believe it was really our "first egg" until I cracked it in the frying pan and it had three small yolks in it!!
That's really cool! Wow! I need to crack mine open and see if there is anything interesting in there!

The tiny egg in this pic was laid by one of my Welsummers. It was her first egg, and she laid it right in front of my doorstep. Now she lays large size eggs in the coop (not in front of the doorstep).
Such a cute fart egg, LOL. Love it!

Not completely our first egg but 2 of 3 are.

From left to right. Our first americana egg today! Our first RIR egg today and our 11th ISA Brown egg!
All right! You're going to be swimming in eggs now! LOL. I'm hoping to get 2 eggs tomorrow (my other leghorn is the same age)

I was not prepared to see an egg from one my 21 week old hens (3 Barred Rocks, 3 Black Australorps) when I opened the nest box door Saturday morning to add straw! I stood there stunned! Then in the afternoon, I removed the ramp that goes from the run to the coop for cleaning & left it outside to dry. 30 minutes later I returned to let the girls free range in their section of the yard, & was puzzled when only 5 chickens greeted me. The 6th, Izzy-a Barred Rock wasn't in the run, wasn't in the coop-but she was in the nest box!! She had to jump up from the run & thru the pop door to get to it. 20 minutes later she cackles, hops from the coop down into the run, & sashays out the door like this was an everyday occurance. I'm stunned again to open the nest box for the 2nd egg of the day! Now I don't know whether to eat them or keep then forever

This is Izzy--such a sweetie! Her egg is on the left.

This is Peach. I suspect she laid the 1st egg (on the right).

Congratulations! What beautiful birds, and what great examples of firist eggs, not narrow and small like some do! I think special treats are in order! I gave mine yogurt with some blueberries and raisens mixed in.

I ended up eating my first eggs, I've had 23 so far... They sure do taste good. Also, save the shells, let them dry out a bit, and crush them up and give em back to the girls. They love them!

I get to join the club!!

We found our first egg today. Laid by Daisy Mae, I'm pretty sure.

Hope the pic shows...

That's an egglands best egg behind it, for size comparison.

Just posted my first ever pic on this site, too. Whew. I feel like I should go pop a bottle of champagne /img/smilies/smile.png
How pretty! What breed layed it?
