Its a little pink but I think its really just a very light greyish brown so it look pink to me sometimes and grey other times. Itll be interesting to see what the next ones look like.

My 6 month old EE laid her first egg today and it is blue!

I have 2 BA's pullets and got my first egg today. They are nearly 28 weeks old. I didn't expect them to be the first to lay, as I have a production RIR, BPRock and White Leghorn who seemed more likely to be first.
I have been checking the egg box every day for a month, and this morning, to my surprise, a BA was on the nest.

Our first eggs! Not sure if it's Caramel Crown (brown/white Lohmann) or Chick Chick Chai (hybrid Australorp/Isa Brown/Leghorn) who laid them, or one from each... or maybe it's little Cookie? I don't think she's quite old enough yet, though. In any case, EXCITEMENT CENTRAL at our place!!

My first EE Egg!

My first ever egg was laid just 3 weeks ago - but my EE is 10 months old and I was really starting to give up hope on her! LOL

Congratulations to all of you with your first egg(s)!! I know how exciting it is to get that first one. Every day (sometimes twice) when I go to see what my chickens have left me, it is still a bit exciting. It really is a remarkable process I think....12 19 15... Kay in NC

That's how it is with me, too. My girls have been laying since early August, yet I still get excited when there are eggs to be collected.

Glad to know I am not the only one that gets excited to see eggs in the nesting box.
Hate to admit it, but I even thank my girls when I am collecting I know who laid by the color and size...LOL
