We did it when I was a kid. You make a pin hole on either end and blow all the contents out. That way you can save the egg without the fear of breaking it one day, and having that rotten egg stink to deal with. It was A LOT hard than I remembered. I had to keep making the pin hole bigger and bigger and found I could shake the contents out easier that blowing. But he was happy and got to keep our very first egg.

Our little cross-beaked EE, Chiquita laid her first egg yesterday!! Her hatchmate began laying a month ago, the gorgeous green. Little Chiquita surprised us with BLUE! We are so thrilled.

This was our first egg out of our group of ten 24- week old pullets, a white leghorn. She laid 3 days in a row then took today off.

Today one of our EEs got in the act with this small pale green egg.
