She's a Speckled Suffex. I'm not sure how old she is. I traded her for some banana trees.
The lady said she was around 5 months.
The guy at the farm store said she was older.
But this looks like a pullet egg to me.
It's quite small.

Anyway, I'm happy.
It's been a stressful week deciding whether or not to keep her.
Now she'll stay if she keep laying.

And she seems to have settled down.
Maybe she was mean because she was getting ready to lay.

Nice big egg for the first one! Don't tell me "Henny Penny", right?

I had a hard time naming mine. The original ones I picked were vetoed by my daughter because they were the same as my deceased aunts. Well! They sounded perfect for chickens! So, with the exception of Buffy, I went with plant/flower names: Fern/Fernie, Daisy, and Pansy.

No, I named her Penny because of her color.

Sissy because she's the smallest and runs all the time.
Kallie is my eldest Barred Rock and my granddaughter named the other one Hattie.
