Post your FIRST EGG pics!

I was so excited i went out and took a bunch of pics and made a collage. Its very basic and my chickens don't really have names, but the top most pic is my roo, who started stepping on the hens last week. On either side is one of the sisters who shares the same nest, and the center pic are the eggs in relation to a quarter on a saucer.

Here is my first egg I got today! So exciting!

My first two came Jan 1, 2008 Happy New Year, they finally arrived. I am a proud mama. My RIR's came through.


They are small but i'll take 'em. What a nice way to start the year.

The mixed Polish is checking them out but they are not hers, wonder what she wants?

I went crazy making nesting boxes and they chose the doorway.

Actually since I posted this I found that the white eared chicken that is checking out these eggs are actually hers, I caught her in the act, so that means there are really no hard and fast rules.

Here is my little girls first egg. Yeah! I've now got 5 laying. Notice how long and skinny it is compared to the others. Please tell me what y'all think she is as I have no clue. She has short legs and white ears. Thanks all Laura

I didn't get pics of my first eggs, darn it! And wouldn't you know it; I was so looking forward to the first one, and was so excited when I found it-I let my middle son carry it up to the house (carefully I told him, he's 4 1/2) and he drops it...

The boys were really excited when we started getting the seafoam green eggs though; they just started laying several weeks ago. I'm now getting between 12 and 15 eggs a day...and not enough customers yet, eek!

it's so PURDY

not sure which one laid it.

thats a LARGE store bought egg next to it.
