35 lbs. filed peas
35 lbs. hard red wheat
10 lbs. spelt
20 lbs. BOSS
3 lbs. Fertrell Nutri Balancer
5 lbs. Fishmeal

I just started mixing this 3 weeks ago. All went well with my LF, but my bantams are not eating the peas. I did also notice that the LF are now leaving a few peas. They cleaned it all up the first two weeks. I really can't tell how well this is working, as I am still mixing with no-soy layer mash that I have left. I do know that no matter how often I recycle the leftover powder from the mash, they eat mostly the whole grain. Egg count is still at 8-9/day out of 13 (if they are all laying), which is about the same as on the mash. These pullets are 28 weeks old. Time will tell how it goes.

Thank you PaulaJoAnne!

Also thanks Cindy in PA! Yes, the split peas tend to not be eaten very fast. My chickens don't really like them. They do clean them up if I leave the remnants for them to eat before they get fresh mix. Ground split peas are an option for some. I don't want to take the time to grind them.

Can I ask a question? I am new to chickens as of this spring, have over 60 now. I have been seeing BOSS mentioned many times, but don't know what it is. Can someone please enlighten me? I want to be a good chook mom.
