Post your Khaki Campbell Pics

Thanks

They do grow amazingly fast. These three are far more friendly with people than our first Khakis. They always chirp at me when they need something. And sometimes just when they want company.

haha oh yes if mine run out of food or water (it happens sometimes) they will chirp loudly to get my attention. But they are skittish too, they don't like being touched.held. They were weeks when we got them so we are working on it :) now i got my mallards when they were 3 days old and they don't mind being held :)

does Racket go QUACK QUACK or more whack whack mutter mutter

QUACK QUACK = duck

whack whack - drake

Racket doesn't really make much of any sound to be honest. It still kind of sounds like a duckling. I will pay more attention to see if I can notice anything. Perhaps I'll try and get a video

Now I have 2 pekins that I got with him and they do the whack whack whenever I speak to them.. sounds like they're saying WHAT WHAT. It's rather amusing, however I can only keep 1 drake and that will most likely be a muscovy

Racket turned out to be a drake. An extremely obnoxious one that is no longer with us. Actually out of 6 straight run ducks I ended up with at least 5 males. Pretty sad, but at least now I know that I do NOT want a drake of any breed. Hopefully I will have better luck with my ducklings next year :)

I ended up with 8 drakes out of 9 straight run ducks my first year. Paid the extra bucks and got all ducks the following year. I still have one original drake for my five ducks and sometimes I think that is one too many.

What horrible luck! I got my ducks from a local hatchery and unfortunately they don't sex their ducklings. I will most likely order some sexed ones next year and have them shipped. I'm kind of scared of having them shipped because I know it's stressful it can be for them. Also I don't really need or want 10+ ducklings. I really only want 3. Guess I'll have to figure something out

Some hatcheries will ship 3 ducklings at an extra charge for a heat pack. Meyer Hatchery is one that comes to mind. They will also sex them for you for an additional charge to ensure you get want you want. I ordered from Meyer last year and they shipped two extra ducklings (ordered 12 for me and another person) to allow for shipping mortality. We received 13 ducklings alive and peeping!
