i never rlly liked guineas much. i always thout they were loud and abnoxious. well i had been watching my guineas(well there my grandparents bc member i never rlly did like em) and i found them to be quite intertaining. :) its pretty funny to see them running after bugs in the yard, and making their little noises(which i never did like).

i think i like guineas now. so when i get my own house i think i am goin to get 2-3 of EVERY color.

SO PLEASE!! THIS IS A GUINEA FOWL THREAD!!!!! POST AS MANY PICS AS YOU WANT.,...,....,. OF ANY AGE.,,...,.,...,..,.AND SAY WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT THEM!!!!

Here"s some pics of my 3 guineas. They live with my chickens but the roost in a tree by the coop. They only go in the coop when the weather is really bad. I used to try and make them go in...to no avail. I have just learned to let them decide. I wish I had some pics of them chasing our 90lb Doberman. That's quite a sight! They are loud but I have learned to do things that keeps their noise down somewhat like be up to feed them at a certain time, allow them a wider range than the chickens and make sure that my neighbors on both sides are partially deaf!

love my guineas, you have to respect them as semi wild, mine are friendly, you can walk up and talk to them, they will follow you around-

This is a pic of mine; they were fuzzy keets in Feb '10. The roo in the pic got to "fighty" with my other roos, so he got exiled in here...although he thinks they are his flock and gets between me and them at feeding time...

I am new to guineas as in we just brought home our keets a few hours ago. We've been thinking about it for a while and more so with the explosion of the tick population this spring. We went looking to purchase 4 or 6 to start with but then just couldn't leave the last two behind.

Here's their welcome home photo. I hope to have more soon!
They are all pearls.

Any suggestions as to the kind of house they should have would be welcome. We purchased the coops for our chickens so my husband would really like to try to build something this time around.
