I love checking on the flock before sunset. I don't think I'd opt for an automatic coop door, I really enjoy this routine, keeps me close to my birds. The Homing Pigeons always go inside their loft, they're more "homebody" oriented. The chickens love their coop, too, but hot Summer months they may hang outside on their perches in the pens. Winter months I don't have to chase anyone in, or even look for them, they are early to bed, huddled close on their coop perches, ready for slumber time. It's peaceful, I get to see many sunsets. Tonight was cold, I saw the sunset changing minute by minute.
