Our Pot bellied Pig Patrick has been getting out of the yard and going into the woods (we are taking care of that). He had 10 ticks on him today. I've read PBP can get Lymes disease. Is there something that we can give him to prevent the ticks from getting on him?

They should sell tick repellent for livestock at your local TSC

Thanks Redhen, have you had problems with ticks? We do have guineas and they take pretty good care of the yard, but I don't let them roam the woods behind us.

Safe for Pot bellied pigs? this is really the 1st time I'm dealing with this so I don't know.

Hey froggie..
I haven't had too bad a problem with ticks on my pigs yet..I only found one once on Olivia..
My dogs are another story though..and we have lymes disease baaaad around here..
I didn't know pigs could get lymes ..this worries me now..
I think I'll call my vet and ask what I can use on them..

Ok so for anyone interested I did get a reply from a vet who deals with exotics regarding pot bellied pigs and ticks.
