The Foothills Of Chickendom
Has any one had any experience with Potassium Permanganate??? Well i have and it's wonderful (Personal Opinion).

It comes in a little 50g container and even though it says "poison", the chickens love it. So it's not poisonous to them at all.

Just a little drop from the Chrystal like blue filings makes their drinking water go dark purple and it doesn't seem to worry the chickens at all, if anything they prefer it.

This product is an old remedy thing that my neighbor an old chicken farmer gave to me, it is a disinfectant that helps keep worms at bay and just "cleans them out". It also help with smell. I put it in their water every so often (like once every month or two), I wouldn't recommend using it to often.
The funny thing is it has all these warnings on the back like- If this comes in contact with eyes nose or any other mucous membrane wash out and get immediate medical advice, but some how it helps the chickens and they even enjoy it. I have only had one 5 week old chick drink it so not to sure that you should give it to chicks under 5 weeks.

I have used it for about 1 year and my neighbor who gave it to me used this product for about 13 years and swears by it, so i highly recommend it for your hens. I have not bought any recently so not sure if it is for sale anymore but why not go and see.

Bought a 50g plastic jar of potassium permanganate today at a pharmacy so it is still available but you have to search around to find it.
