Don't feel bad. I have a rogue gardening squirrel. The plants I plant and he moves do better where he buries them.

Well usually everything i plant the ducks "re-arrange" to their stomachs. They even chewed on the nasty hairy Zucchini plants… (Which still have not grown any zucchinis, but that's another thread…)
