When I woke up this morning and looked ou the window I saw my prize American white rabbit doe under my pear tree. Somehow she had gotten/fell out of her cage and crawled 500 feet to the tree. The way she was acting I thought she may have broken her back. I called doc and got her in to the vet. It's now 5 hours later and we are back home. Frost has a fractured hip and a splintered femur. Unfortunately I think her show career is over but at least she can still be used as a brood doe. She took 1st, B.O.V., B.O.S. and then 2nd at the ARBA National convention. She has done very well in her first two.shows for a 12 week old. Thoughts and praers for the little bunnies recovery please. I have waited and waited for a rabbit of her quality and now because of a broken cage latch that I missed she is hurt.
