I live in WV and I tried ordering a Bobwhite hatching egg/mini incubator kit from a company in MN. I ended up needing an importation permit (free) and a health certificate ($70) for 6 eggs!! I cancelled my order
I understand the reasoning behind this, but I just want to hatch a few eggs to keep the birds as pets (indoors). Now I'm going to try and order the incubator from Amazon and the eggs from a seller on ebay so I can hopefully get around all this nonsense... Do all states have such strict regulations? I would buy some chicks local, but I'm having an impossible time finding ANYONE that has them near me. Too bad
