So I was doing a random health check and one of my girls 17 weeks old not laying yet, her vent looked like it had a little white and clear mucous….she seems fine otherwise. Could it be the very beginning of vent gleet? I gave them all milk kefir just in case.

Doubtful.
Likely just normal bodily fluids from a vent.

Do a google search of what Vent Gleet looks like.
Thank you! That's what I thought at first I actually thought maybe it was a sign she would lay soon so I ran in and googled it ....and then google scared me into think maybe it's vent gleet. Good to know it's probably just normal

I think you are on the right track, she's 17wks, her body is changing little by little and getting prepared to start producing eggs in several weeks.

LOL Google can convince you that you have the black death or a plague and you have 1minute to live. It's very good that you are inspecting and checking over your girls, that's the way to do things, so make that a habit. There's a lifetime of learning, then some when it comes to chickens.
