poult hardiness

I have raised many chicks, this is my first time for turkey. I have read they are not as hardy or smart as chicks. If I put them in a chicken tractor with a brooder area, are they smart enough to know to go into the brooder if they are chilled? They are 3 weeks old and have been inside the whole time. My chicken tractor is about 4' in height so plenty of room for them to move around.,

Yeah they're smart enough to go and come from the heat as they need it but putting young turkeys on the ground is dangerous because they're so much more susceptible to diseases. Mine stay in a brooder for 8 to 10 weeks even then they can catch stuff and die easily.
