I have a day old poult (mixed RP and wild---an oops). My very tame RP hen decided that she like the local "bad boy" rather than her intended mate. that I am treating for spraddle leg with the band aid method but now I am not so sure that is what is wrong. It is a large chick that took a LONG time to hatch. It is very bright but it does not seem to be able to get its legs underneath it. It just lays on its side with its legs extended out behind it. I can bend its hocks and make it sit down but if I let go it falls over. Without the band aid the legs are not doing the splits but just extended completely out. What is this and is it fixable (or worth trying to fix....) I was going to keep it as a pet but not if it has no quality of life.
