Hello! Today I picked up a Royal Palm and her poults, who hatched Wednesday, and needed to be rehomed immediately. We had to bring them home to brood them as mom continuing isn't feasible right now. 4 of them are very healthy and active, but one, while seeming otherwise healthy, barely ever opens it's eyes, and when it does, it's just a slit. When it got under the heat lamp, it just stood there swaying and stretching to the light while the rest did their thing. It also still has it's egg tooth and beak seems a bit different than the others. I'm giving them sugar and Sav-A-Chicken. Help please! Thanks!

Maybe it is a bit younger than the others. The last brood of chicks I hatched, I had one chick that didn't open it's eyes for 2 days. It had a difficult hatch. It wouldn't stand or drink either, but I could see no deformation. I was ready to give up on it, when it opened one eye slightly. I gave it some sugar electrolyte water with an eyedropper and put it back in the incubator. The next morning, it was standing up with eyes wide open. Sadah is fine now. I hope your poult does well.
