I have 2 pullets and a cockerel who are 3 months old and 2 (hopefully pullets) two week old chicks. For the older ones I was planning to switch to a layer feed in about a month. I’ve read that this feed shouldn’t hurt my rooster. I hope this is true. A friend dropped off this feed to me, but I don’t know what it is. The protein content, calcium, etc. Anyone know?

Ok. The rooster (Buttercup was supposed to be a girl 🤔) was accidental...but I was wondering how I’d separate his food. Fingers crossed it won’t hurt him.

Oh wow. I looked all over on the bag, but didn’t notice the tag crumbled up underneath 😂👵🏻. It says crude protein min 10%, fiber max 5%, fat 2.5% (seems lower than what they’d need for protein?). Corn chops, milo, wheat, soybean oil.

Yes, that's scratch grains.
A layer feed should have 16%, and no less than 15%. GC

You should see a protein percentage listed somewhere. It wouldn't make sense for there not to be.

But I have seen some bags of feed that ONLY list protein before.
