Some of the ideas, like unbleached muslin curtains for draft-free ventilation, can be useful to the modern backyard chicken keeper. Some of the information was mind-boggling, like the fact that they were aiming to produce 100 eggs per hen per year -- from Leghorns!

I don't practice the using of kerosene on my hens legs to treat scaly leg mites coconut oil in a solid form works just as well!
