Hi, I've been looking through ebay at various items for chickens when I came across poultry saddles and basically my question is, What are poultry saddles used for?

It is to protect the hen, if you have a girl who is being picked on and having feathers plucked, or if a girl is your roos favourite it stops the roo being able to mount her I think so gives her a break, like I said I think this is right, someone more experienced may be able to explain it better lol

yeah you could be right, I guessed it was something to do with their feathers being pulled but id never heard of anything like this, if anyone has more information on it let me know, Thanks mate

Hi,
We are Uk breeders and make poultry saddles fro the hens protection. These have become a god send to many breeders to protect the hens from the spurs cutting and ripping in to a hens back. When i started breeding i lost hens, Large Orpingtons, through this problem. As very valuable birds i sourced, i was so upset that i decided to make them, to protect my girls. We now make two types, so anyone interested do visit our website.
