Still may not be a temptation, unless he's got potential to be as pretty as my Tennessee:

What would really tempt me would be d'Uccles in the flavors I don't have yet. Like mottleds. White. Black. Even porcelain might mess with my resolve...

Cetawin, hope you'll still love me but I am not a duck person.
But no need to trade, as I wanted to bring you a house-warming present anyway

I just hope they hatch...

Are you bringing any D'ucclers with you? Im looking for some more as I HAD over 75 eggs in two batchs that didnt hatch.. most of them never even fully developed.. $68 loss.. err all from the same seller too.. I know it wasnt my bator cause the others in at the same time are doing well.

hahaha yea I still luv ya...I am not truly a duck person but I do enjoy my crew and they are a hoot for sure. I am mainly interested in saving the two breeds because they are both critically endangered.

house-warming present you say...oh my well thank you but I shall warn you...I have a nasty habit of hiding cash to go home with folks or for them to find after I have left. It is worth it to me to get good babies that I want...not to mention, I know what gas costs woman; you and DH coming is gift enough because I finally get to meet you.

That boy is a danged handsome boy for sure. I can see why you love him. I would love to get a Porcelain boy (trio even better) as a gift for someone but she has a strict "No started birds coming in". dang dang dang.

I know how you feel right now...I had 4 different kinds of D'uccle's in my bator that didn't hatch and didn't show any signs...all shipped eggs. And I too know it is not my bator as I have hatched 15 of my own eggs that was in there at the same time. I wish people would take a little more time when packing eggs. I spend 1 hour on every box...no kidding. I do everything I can to give the buyer a better chance at hatching. My last buyer had 9 eggs out of 10 hatch and I shipped them from Ohio to CA. I pray that I have that kind of luck someday with shipped eggs. Darn USPS too!!

d'Uccles can be hard to hatch. I take time and package them well, but even experienced hatchers have trouble with the eggs. Fertility is great, but some just stop between 14-21 days.

It's made me think about not shipping eggs, and only selling chicks. I get disappointed when someone buys eggs and doesn't get babies! For my millies, I only got 1 chick from the first batch of shipped eggs, and of the 4 I got from the 2nd batch there were only 2 that were SQ.

I have very mixed feelings about what I should bring. I'm thinking about bringing all my lavender chicks. They aren't SQ, and have a hard time feathering out. I've increased their protein intake to see if it helps solve the problem. I have one little lav girl that's been mowing all the other chicks bald! Not sure if that's a bad habit or protein issue. It's really obvious who the culprit is now, because she looks like she has an afro compared to the others. And it makes the others, who I'd thought about selling, look bad.

decisions decisions

I will not be bringing any GN or Butterscotch. They are too young to lay and not old enough to evaluate yet. That's the hardest part of d'Uccles: it can take 2 years to see their true colors, since they have to molt before you really know.

I was too lazy to go through all the pages but have you posted directions from the exit yet? The son and I may be attending and we'll be coming off the exit from the south. If you haven't yet would you post directions from both N and S exits on your original post? Thank you, Cindy

ETA: I won't have anything unless someone wants a bunch of mixed eggs(would make good dual purpose) eggs from my Wellie roo over all my different girls... All of them are a different breed... 2 EEs, BR, Buff Cochin, Brown Leghorn, Blue Andalusian, Java, BA. Free by the way... But if you do want a mix, let me know before Sunday. If someone wants some then I have to go!!! Hehe!!

Oh yeah and one Gold Sebright girly would be nice if someone has one. Hubbies fav chicken breed.

Coming from G'Town, take I-75 North towards Cincinnati. Take exit # 136 (Sadieville). When you get off the ramp, turn Left and cross back over I-75, continue past the Marathon gas station on the right and you are going to be coming downhill at a pretty good grade. You will cross the creek at the bottom and it will be the second driveway on the left. It will be a double gate going into a field. if you come to the white house on the left, you just past it.

Here is my cell number in the event you get lost and need some help 859-327-5076

Prize-winning MF d'Uccles, PQ Lavender d'Uccles, Gold Neck d'Uccles, & project 'Butterscotch' d'Uccles.

I did get one self blue d'uccles to hatch but it would have been nice to have gotten two. I would rather buy chicks so I know I get something for my money. I would love to have different colors of them. Southern Chick
