My Narragansett eggs I ordered from Sean in NY hatched Thursday night...two out of six which I thought were OK odds. One is perfect and the other had the splayed legs, but I made little hobbles and fixed him up and he's doing much better today. He can toddle around about as good as his sibling. Today I acquired a barred rock chick which is three days old. Is it safe to put him in the brooder with my poults? And if so, is it safe for them to stay together?

Well, I took the chance to throw them in there together...and you're exactly right. My little "Forrest" that has the leg problems wasn't eating or drinking before, and this little chick has them eating and drinking up a storm! I'm so excited. Friday night I thought I was going to loose the little guy but now he's doing as well as the other poult. Thanks!
