Just wondering if anyone could answer this for me. I mean, I'm pretty sure one or a bunch of you can so here goes.
I'm getting poults and chicks at approximately the same time, just a couple weeks apart. Will they get along better if raised together like puppies and kittens.? Or will the turkeys turn on the chickens once they reach sexual maturity.?
I am planning to incorporate a turkey pen for the poults at the far end of my chicken run so they will see each other every day, but, won't be allowed contact once we start putting the turkeys on a growth diet for butchering. I'd like to raise them together the whole time but I know that too much protein can have ill effects on my laying hens and I don't want that to happen.
All this is new to me and I am still looking for information from all my resources except it's gettig all so confusing about all the different opinions on everything from raising the poults and chicks together to keeping them together when they grow up...
