Poults hanging necks while roosting

If the temperatures outside are as hot as the heat lamp needs to be then you don’t need a heat lamp at all. And 95° is high to set the heat lamp at at a month-old. I know you can’t help it if the temperature has spiked up. But at their age they will be fine with no more heat lamp at all even if the heat wave goes back down the little they will be more than fine
Ok thank you! he’s going to pull the lamp

Little cuties are just sleeping. Leave the heat lamp off. They will be fine. Leave the lights off so they can get some sleep. Or, like Rachel said, they'll stay up parting all night!
LOL I just said that to him that oh neat they’re sleeping now then when he goes to work and I’m trying to sleep they will be up chatting all night

With chickens that’s just their bodies know. When the lights go out it’s time to sleep when the lights come back it’s time to wake up. When mine were little and it was too cold for them to go outside yet when I would turn the lights off in a room they would quiet down but in the morning when the lights came back they were ready to party again. But maybe try to tell your boyfriend that is it’s much too hot for them. Maybe take a thermometer in there and show him. I’m sure he’s trying to do what’s best but sometimes when we get over worried we get ourselves in more trouble But their way they are acting isn’t anything unusual for being hot
Yes exactly he has been staying everything to the exact that it says online and since it says to still have a light he’s unsure what to do but is afraid they’ll die without the light. Meanwhile it’s super hot out and we don’t have ac or anything so it’s def hot hot in here too. Lol “party” oh yeah I’m sure they’ll be up all night now lol

Oh yuck I hope you get your AC back soon. It’s in the high 90s here and we just got our first fixed. Was pretty miserable before that. I think whatever he was reading should’ve been more specific most places will tell you to keep the heat lamp on for five weeks. But I think what really needs to be said there is discussing more of a temperature then just the heat lamp and it should discuss slowly removing the heat. And the heat lamp you have to use with your conditions. If they were outside in March it will probably have to still just not at 95°. Sounds like he was trying to do the right thing. But yeah I would definitely turn it off

I’m not sure where he’s reading this online. But if temperatures are too high it may be doing more harm than good. You might want to take a thermometer down there and check out that temperature because I keep lamp on top of 95° you might want to check on if he’s determined to leave it on all night

It just kind of made me laugh too because it sounds you’re a lot like me when I am “helping” my husband with something. When I’m helping him I’m usually the one on backyard chickens or backyard hreds for hours. Lol
