Go to Porters Heritage Bred Turkeys. He has a very helpful section on raising poults. He's quite the expert. But warning....looking at his many varieties of birds is addictive! He also has a color calculator. You can calculate the colors you could get in your breedings.

You are going to kill your birds if you have a heat lamp on them when it is 95 degrees outside.

I told him to turn it off and he’s had it off. He was obsessing over he lamp I don’t know what info he read. These are his turkeys I’m the duck lady. He paid a lot of money and we traveled far for these three buggers so he will do whatever he needs. Back when I got baby ducks in middle of winter I didn’t even bother to buy a heat lamp because we had a wood stove - I had them in cage near it and said that was good enough lol.
They’re doing good though so thanks for everyone’s help I told him I’d get him an expert answer on here

Awesome. Men can be stubborn but we can be even more stubborn! Lol. Just kidding. They will be happier. After he realizes they’re thriving without it he’ll stop even thinking about that! And maybe it will help him not obsess about the lamp when / if he gets more! Hope you guys enjoy your growing birds.
