Power how-to ideas needed.

I'm really not confused. I simply want to know more about solar and or battery powered fences. I do not want to hook up to my house power. My answer to questions about my house power is simply that it is not an option.

I might want to add a water heating system at some point. So there's that And I've been contemplating a small brooder in the coop I hope to build. I know, I know. I want the moon on a stick according to hubby.For now I'd be happy just to figure an electric fence, keeping in mind future possibilities.

So is it possible? Can I put solar or battery powered water heater in along with a solar or battery operated fence? I'd love to not have to replace frozen water dispensers and thaw them every 2 hours in winter. Someone already mentioned that a brooder would suck up too much energy for solar and I answered that the brooder wasn't that high on my priority list so that's ok. As I said, the fence is the main focus. If I can run a wire underground from a solar panel I have the perfect spot for the panel. If not then my question is about battery operated fence.

I tried to answer the original question but apparently that's not the actual question you wanted answered. I have zero experience with solar powered electric fencing so I'll leave answering your newly revised thread to those that do.

I do not have electricity to my coop or run. It's too far to run an extension cord. It is under a tree to provide summer shade so may not be solar accessible. I'm wondering about batteries."

I also asked about burying solar wire. I explained how far the house was from the coop making it not an option for extension cords. I have explained my house cannot have more lines run from it. I tried once and was informed I was maxed. YES, by an electrician.
At what point did I revise my thread? If you don't know about solar or battery that's fine. I was hoping someone here had experience with them. I think Folly's Place and PirateGirl have given me my best advice.

How far from your house is the coop site? Is it 50'? That's not too far at all for an extension cord. Even 100' is not too far.

From what I've read you asked an electrician about putting an electric stove in your basement, that's a completely different thing needing 220v and usually 40 amps minimum dedicated. Did you ask an electrician about running another 110 circuit either a 15 or 20 amp circuit? I have no idea because you haven't said anything about that in this thread.

You asked about possibly needing power for things that would be easier and cheaper to run using 110 from your house than they would by solar. Very few homes are at capacity to the point where you can't use an extension cord or run a new 110 circuit. Unless your house was built in 1910 and never updated I'd be surprised if yours was one of them.

It's not what I'm interested in, not what I asked about. Do I really have to explain I already have a shed, a hot tub, an inground swimming pool running on my 2400sq. Ft house power? Is it not enough that I said it isn't an option? I don't want it, not interested, my question wasn't about it. I asked about things that would be easier run by 110 than by solar because, as I said, I know Nothing about electric fencing. Once it was pointed out that a brooder was too much that answered that part of the question. It didn't mean I wanted to go with 110.

That information would have been very helpful at the beginning (or at any point earlier within this thread) as would having the title and original post reflect your actual question too.
