power lines, magnetic field and your health

The only bad thing about our lines is the small planes use it as a fly way. It happens about once a year. I will be on the mower and all of the sudden this plane will fly right on top of me. Lots of words are screamed . Its scarey.

There have been no conclusive medical studies on power lines causing any ill health effects. Except for possibly killing you if you touch a live one. Many unsubstantiated claims and internet babble about living near power lines. Most often the ones making the claims smoke, eat unhealthy foods, forget to exercise, and then blame any health related issues on the power lines.

Power lines are a hot issue by me right now since they are trying to upgrade the line that goes through by me. They want to more than double the height of the towers. Right now the towers are at about the height of the tree line and the new ones will tower over the trees and ruin the views in a historic, preserved area. Look carefully into the easement before you purchase. My one neighbor had their septic within the easement (done before they bought the house) and the power company drove their heavy equipment over it and ruined it and according to the easement the homeowner is responsible for the repair. On another neighbors property they couldn't drive inder the lines so they opened a gate and drove heavy equipment across property that was not included in the easement and tore it all up. They were clear cutting the land around the existing lines to to widen the path. The NJDEP has put a stop to the project for now. http://www.stopthelines.org or http://www.site.savethepark.org/
