Not enough to worry about the last 20 days, I guess. Had first pips this morning. Went to work at 8:30 and all was fine. One of my assistants returned to the ranch about 11 and called me that the power was out. I had her cover them and came straight home. The temp was down to 85, but stayed at 70% humidity in the lockdown incubator (forced air) with two pipped eggs so far...the still air, which will go into lockdown on Sunday, was at 95.

Has anybody had this happen in lockdown with pipped egg?. Should I check them? Not sure what difference it would make, except to make me feel better if they were still okay and alive. I do not want to shrink wrap anyone though. Power back on now and I am trying to restabilize temp. :( This really BITES!

What a relief! I just heard chirping and saw some rocking. WHEW!

85F is cold for them but if not too long a period shouldn't compromise the hatch. At that age they are generating their own heat. I've read a story of a person who thought their hatch was over so tossed the remaining eggs in the garbage, most hatched and late day 22. Awoke the next morning to wander into kitchen and hear chirping coming from the can.
