I have eggs in a bator at different stages. The power was of for six hours and the temp in the bator was at 80* when the power came back on. Are my babies doomed?

The ones that are at a later stage of development are the ones most likely to survive the lower temps, just have to wait and see about the rest. After a few more days I would candle them and that might give a clue as to how many survivors there are. Don't know if you covered the 'bator while the elec. was off but it sure helps to hold the heat in. Hope everything works out for you!

I have had my power go off in the winter time & temp drop to 70 deg. in my bator & still have some hatch, I think you will be ok.

Great! Thankyou for your replies! I would hate to have all of them die. My son had the idea to cover the bator! He piled blankets, towls, any thing he could grab from my laundry room. Thats where it is set up. I have my first candled eggs from a breeding pair of young silkies in the bator along with some eggs Ive purchased. Only time will tell!
