I only have 1 of these, and the rest of the batch is probably 2 weeks younger so I don't have a great comparison. But it seems to have a lot of comb already, although there's not pinkness. And the legs seem kinda big and it has a upright position. Hoping it's just the breed, though! Oh, and does 4 weeks look about right?
Sorry about the blurryiness...i've taken pictures 3x and hardly any clear ones! Hopefully these are good enough.

Thanks!

Ugh....I just got them last week, maybe i'll take him back and see if there are anymore. Although I didn't really need this last batch of 4 so maybe it's best if there's just 3 anyway. But i'm also starting wonder about the 2 week old EE....the comb seems rather wide, although there is no color to it. Guess I could just keep him until i'm ready to get rid of my first-batch EE roo-in-disguise. Darn chickens.

I have 2 9wo EEs, 1 is definitely a boy....many on this board agree!

it was pretty obvious with him by 6 weeks, so we'll see with this new.

The breed does have a really large comb. Do you see any wattles ? ? ?

I have seen some pictures of roos at this age and they had combs that were not pink yet.

However, their combs were a little bigger than yours and it had wattles.

So, you might or might not have a roo. You might have to give it another couple of weeks.

Congratulations of getting some PR. I have some on order and can't wait to get mine.

I'm at work now, i'll check when I get home. Hadn't noticed any wattles but maybe i've just been too focused on that comb.

The feed store that had the PR had a bunch, and they were there for at least 2 weeks. I was surprised, wondered if people around here just didn't know what they are or didn't know that this place had them. Everyone has BR around here, though.

Thanks for giving me hope about this one!

I am thinking they don't have a huge following yet.
All my feed stores act like I am speaking a foriegn language when I ask them if they are going to be getting some in.
That indicates that others aren't asking for them.

I have hear some very good things about the PR and can't wait to see how they do !

I don't know partridge rocks specifically, but rocks grow really fast. At 5 weeks the roos should have good-sized combs, turning pink, and wattles. I only see a comb on that chick. I'm leaning toward pullet.

Here's a picture of my barred rocks from last year -- you can see the different-sized combs pretty clearly. (and yes, I know they look squished in this box, I moved them out just after I took this photo) http://www.flickr.com/photos/lemay/4056186920/

petrelline--my little one definately doesn't have that much comb, or the color to it, and it's less than a week younger.

I've heard good thing about PRs, and think they are sooo pretty. That and the 2 Speckled Sussex I just got were b/c I've learned so much about breeds since coming to this board (less than 2 months ago). I couldn't ignore that this feed store kept having the ones I wanted. Most places had the same stuff, but this one had PR, SS, GLW, JG.....hatchery obviously, but much more variety than everywhere else around here.
