2 incubator hatches and 10 broodys in 2024. It was mass chaos.

Ready to do it all again in 2025.

No self control here, just city limits. Only 5 chickens allowed! So hard, I want all the pretty birds. At least I have BYC so I get to look at everyone else's pretty birds.

When I began my Serama journey, I was quite happy with the 5 teeny, tiny chickens. But one morning recently, I may have counted 24+?

Hmmm How did that happen?

I got Straight run chicks from Meyers recently. I was trying to decide whether or not to order, but they put rare breeds at 30% off. I got them for $2.55 each, (16+meal maker and flock protector.) plus the $30 shipping.

I ordered straight run, because I wanted a big selection, and wanted to see what they would send. I liked what they sent, but now I am hatching LO eggs because that is what I didn't get.

I am out of chicken broth, and canned chicken. I like to have both on hand. I will WANT and get new chicks, either by broody hens or boughten chicks...I need at least 3 to go.

My 8 x 10' coop officially has room for 20 chickens. Right now I only have 20 chickens. I know I can fit five or six more in there, no problem ... trying to decide what to order for this spring. And ... whether to order a dozen CornishX for the freezer. Yeah. I'll do that. Thank you, chicken tenders, for helping me decide, what would I do without you? (Don't worry, the CX go in a separate coop!)
