I got this chick a few weeks ago from tractor supply. So far 2 out of the 6 chicks I got aren’t the breed they were sold as. Does this look like a prairie bluebell egger? I was thinking possibly a rooster ?

Welcome to BYC.

Yes, that does appear to be a cockerel. I believe that prairie bluebell eggers can be that color, but there are so many different feather patterns I am not sure.

There are a lot of mix-ups between tractor supply and their supplying hatchery, unfortunately.

Yes Cockerel and yes, most likely a PBB. They will be all different feathers colors and patterns. Basically a chicken who is homozygous for the blue egg gene, bred with another, or with a prolific homozygous white egg layer.

Basically a true blue egg layer, who is bred with a prolific white layer, to get the most blue eggs possible.
