She went broody at that time and will virtually do so on demand, now. I can see them thinking about broodiness well before it happens; it's even in the curious cocking of their head. They see eggs, they start to think. They look back at me and back to the eggs. They check if they are "safe".Got another pre-broody signal;
Gathering extra stuff for the nest; fibres or feathers and adding them or covering the eggs a little, with them. Mine is stealing coconut fibres from the nest beside her while she sits.
She mainly sits on straw but they are liking the coconut fibre too - very soft. Stealing some but prefers her current nest.
Previously all who I thought would go broody, did. I am watching this girl.
Warm weather (even just a day at 30 degrees Celsius) is often the final straw.
