My granddaughter has chickens and ducks, We live next door. I would normally use Pre Emergent and round -up some. Is it safe for me to do this now that we allow her chickens to free range on our lawn. Thanks for anyone who can enlighten my knowledge on how safe this would be.

If you are talking about the pelleted form of the weed control, I would be concerned unless you water it in very well before you allow free ranging.
If they pick up the pellets, they could be poisoned.

Herbicides and chickens are a bad combination! Enjoy the biodiversity of plants that pop up, and can be mowed, and that those chickens will enjoy eating instead.
Any chemicals they eat will likely turn up in the eggs they produce, and their meat if eaten.

Pellet form pre-emergent used in our front yard 1-month ago.
It's been over a month and several hard rains. Would it be ok to let my chickens back into this part of the yard. I wished I had thought about them doing weed control before we put pre-emergent in the yard.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
