Pre treatment before additions to the flock

I have 2 flocks about to be combined as well as accepting a small flock from a friend. I wanted to deworm and give some corid to the flocks to build up immunity (I will be quarantining the new additions first). Is it normal to use corid to help chickens build an antibody? Also is it a problem to treat for both at the same time? I thought I would treat the ten (10 week) chickens before they start laying. I don't think my flock of five will be laying when they are first switched to the new coop anyway. Also is calf corid okay to use for chickens? Thank you!

I would not pre treat them. I don't medicate my chickens. I would not de worm them unless I see there is a problem. If you do a fecal float, and have worms, then treat them. If you see mites, or lice, then treat them.

But if you have healthy chickens, count your blessing and just give them good feed, and clean water.

The age of your chicks, it would be very unusual for them to have either a worm load, or other parasites, or disease. The flock you are taking in, you should examine carefully. If you feel sorry for them, DO NOT TAKE THEM. If they are coughing or sneezing, do not take them. Do check them carefully for parasites, do the fecal test. I am assuming they are older than your chicks. If they are not, if they are similar ages as your chicks and appear healthy, I would not worry about it.

Okay, that is easier anyway. 😂
I have pics of the new birds, will you guys tell me what you think? They look healthy to me, but an expert eye would be great!
Also, when quarantining is it okay to have them in the same coop? They are completely separated by walls and the run can easily be divided completely. 17 chickens is too many for my usual quarantine spot: dog cage in the garage. Also, will the 'canary' be picked on by the rest?
