Precocious Cockerel - Crowing at 9 Days

I heard a squeaky crow at 2 am on the 5th day after my winter chicks hatched, again at 230 am on the 6th day... FINALLY got the lil' booger on video. Even does the neck pump during, and wing flapping after.

Sound on for the adorable ridiculous-ness!

His (and several of the others) mom is an Egyptian Fayoumi, which have reputations for starting early, but this is wild, haha! <3

Since his mom is an Egyptian Fayoumi, I'll name him Ramses. I'm working on getting him hand tamed, which means snuggles during conference calls.

Ramses is just over 7 weeks old, crowing daily.... and LOOK at what I spotted just oday!

They sure are. Here's a pic of mom. No, not that one. Look again.



They are very cool birds, but I sure wouldn't want a whole flock of them. The Bielefelder mix helps chill them out a bit.
