Hello. One of my hens was attacked and whatever it was pulled out all the feathers from her back half. We thought she’d been killed due to the massive amounts of feathers in the yard, but she showed up in the neighborhood the next day and a neighbor caught her. She is eating well - lots of protein. I have soaked her in warm water, which she loved. She is in the “hospital” crated up in the house. I don’t see any blood on the raw skin. Should i be doing something that I haven’t already done?

Sorry about your hen. She looks remarkably intact. I think you’re doing the right thing with bathing, keeping her in for the night and increasing protein.
It looks like the skin was ripped on her back—am I seeing that correctly? You’re doing great in managing her care.
What predators do you have? Any dogs that get lose?

Omy goodness. So sorry. Poor gal. U are doing great. I'm guessing a possum or coon. Its a predator that's not big enough 2 carry her off. I hope she pecked an eye out and there's a "pirate" predator walking around with one eye. I would Give her some chick electrolytes or probiotics. Hope she gets better.

I agree with all the others, I also like to give egg yolk when I have an injured or sick bird, it just gives them extra nutrients and such. It’s also not a bad idea to do sugar water or electrolytes just to give her a boost as her body heals. Great job so far! And even though she’s lost a lot of feathers she’s still a cutie! Hoping she recovers quickly!

Thank you all for the feedback. She is still in the sick bay. Eating very well with continued increased protein and rooster booster omegas. She laid an egg yesterday. I’m slathering her with neosporin where there are scabs and putting Manuka honey ointment where she is raw. I’m really unsure on how long to keep her away from the flock. She goes crazy when she hears that I’ve let them out to free-range. I’ve attached some pics. She’s over me touching her so much so they’re not the best.

Glad she's doing well!

I agree with @SmiYa0126 , you can put her back with the flock once her wounds scab over.
