predator got 2 of my chickens...figured out how to unhook coop door

Looking a the picture of the bottom corner of your door, the first thing that comes to mind is when you replace those latches that coon is gonna dig right underneath the door frame. We were sitting in the (fully lit) house one night watching TV and heard the sliding patio door (into the kitchen/dining area) slide open. Got up and walked in to find a coon standing in the kitchen looking at me. I swear, in a few hundred more generations they will be stealing cars!

I have a latch like that with a spring on it.Gotta pull the spring back to lift the latch. So sorry for the loss.

Doesn't look coon proof to me. They will finger something like this until they get it. Here is what I am using:

And this is on the coop door inside a chainlink 12x12x6 run covered by plastic mesh fencing and protected from climbers by two strands of electric fencing.

I didn't read everyones responses so I don't know if anyone ahs mentioned this, but there are hook and eye latches like you have but that have a little lock mechanism on it. This is what I have on my door...

I got mine at Lowes in the wireing section of the hardware but I am pretty sure I saw them at Walmart, this way you don't have to change your whole design!!
