Last night something dug under my chicken coop, go in and killed 4 of my best layers. The hole was small but maybe a small dog could have gotten under it. I live on the river so we have all kinds of varmints here. My girls were attacked at their sides with feathers and flesh removed. Does anyone know what kind of varmint does this so I can try and get a handle on this situation?

Coon or possum. That’s my guess.

Oh no, that's terrible!!! Sorry for you & the girls.

I agree with redranger209. And it will be back until either the chickens are all gone or you kill it, whichever comes first.

Staple or nail wire to bottom all around dig in and cover with dirt; put rocks or pavers or bricks over it. Should deter this. Sort for your loss :hit
