Hello! I have been dealing with a mite infestation and read about using predator mites. Does anyone have experience with using these mites? Is it a good solution? Can I put them directly on the chicken? I do not have red mites but I have northern fowl mites. All my research on predator mites says only to use them for red mites and I have never seen an article about using them for northern fowl mites. So can I put predator mites directly on my chickens to kill northern fowl mites?

hello @Tookie Welcome to BYC :frow

Basically you are saying that all the advice you've found so far says don't do it. Why don't you want to take that advice?

Sorry that I wasn’t very clear, I am trying to say that all the information is regarding the red mites and never mentions northern fowl mites.

Spray inside the coop thoroughly weekly for 3 or 4 weeks because it will not kill the pests eggs but will as they hatch out so repeat weekly treatments are a must. I also use poultry dust in the nest boxes.

Hi, I am still wondering if I could put predator mites directly on my chickens to kill the northern fowl mites?
