Predator Problems: a warning to all

Today pollygirl21 (my sister) went to check on our neighbor’s chickens. She found 3 dead in the henhouse.
Their coop unfortunately is not predator proof, very unstable and insecure and we are pretty sure it was a fisher cat.
I hate them so much We are also sure that one ate our uncle’s Dog!
Luckily, their barred rock Nalu was still staying with us. She will be devastated, I’m sure, when she returns to her coop only to find 3 of her flock mates missing. I feel so lucky that we have a secure coop. We have never lost a chicken to predators. One thing’s for sure, I am afraid to take Nalu back to her coop, when something like this could easily happen to her.
Let this be a warning to all with predators: If you care about your chickens, Build Fort Knox at all costs!

Aw that will be a big blow! Too bad they can't have a mine field surrounding them. Blow the predators sky high.

I'm an animal lover and support animal welfare so I'm not one to say stuff like that lol

if you would like to trap the animal then get a large trap. Put cat food in it. Make sure your chickens can’t get to the cage though. We caught a coon with this. Hope it helps

It wasn't my coop, but the owners are planning to build a new, better one.
As for the trap, we might try that, thanks for the suggestion

Update, Nalu returned to her coop after we spent a week caring her her. She made an amazing recovery from her injured leg.
And now Nalu is dead. The weasel came back and killed her and one other hen.

My hatred for weasels has increased 100 times.
I don't want to use a trap now. I want to use a gun!
