predator security for tractor? Or permanent buried fence better

I searched, but I am not good at navigating this forum yet. Cross posted in predators if I can figure out how:

I am thinking a tractor type run would be great for us, but we have a lot of rural predators: dogs, coyotes, foxes, coons. The whole thing that got us interested in chickens was looking at the guineas at the flea market, bc the ticks here are really bad, and Baby's dad has lyme disease.

I can't decide between renting a ditchwitch to bury a fence, which I'd feel safer with, or doing something portable, which would be awesome.

Our lot is on a slope, if that makes a difference.

TIA!

Personally, I feel that permanent coops are more secure. You dont have to bury the wire; a wire skirt is just as secure, and you can pile a little dirt on top of the skirt if you're concerned over appearances. Since you mentioned guineas, are you planning on free ranging any, or will they be confined to a run?

Right now we just have some black sexlinks, which I guess will be in a run, because we only have about an acre, and lots of neighbor dogs. The orignal plan was to free range guineas, but I didn't have them secure enough at night to protect them from predators, sadly. I was thinking if I had a portable run, they'd better know where their yard is, and i can let them out in the evenings and on weekends when we are here. SO says that if I free-ranged guineas, they'd fly up into the trees if dogs came over, but I don't know.

Thanks for suggesting the skirt. I think since it is just me and some kids building this, that will be sooooo much easier!
