Predators or pests in the High Desert

What kind do I need to know about, crows are the most widely seen in my area as well as the neighbors cat he's pretty harmless

Listen with a rooster that big I don't think you have to worry!

Crows will not hurt chickens. You need to watch out for coyotes though.

I would imagine hawks might be an issue. That is the only thing that has gotten any of my birds.

I saw only 2 to 3 hawks since I have lived here about 16 years

crows wont really hurt chickens, but ive heard and seen coyotes near the RR Tracks on Santa fe Ave lately

Crows would take a chick. They are famous for traveling in pairs so one distracts a mom bird from her nest while the other snags the babies. So i wouldn't let baby chicks out free ranging without cover. Doubt they would bother a full grown chicken, though.

I grew up out there and the only thing I ever saw was coyotes and VERY seldom hawks. If your by any hills MAYBE a bobcat, but that's rare.
